My current practice employs varied media that draws from contemporary
cultural artifacts. In this process an academic essay has the same weight
as an exploitation film as the comments on a youtube video. The work
engages in a critical representation of the cultural clashes and social
symbiosis present throughout the physical, psychological, and digital realms
of daily life. Formally the objects and ideas draw from and liberally reference
several art historical modes with the hopes of injecting them with new
relevant meaning. The pieces are a method of defining and redefining life
as a cultural minority through the use of a humorous, exciting, and colorful
visual language.
